I’ve heard OTs refer to themselves as basket weavers. Just wondering where this comes from…

Basket weaving was an activity that occupational therapists would teach soldiers returning from war with disability. Due to the history of the profession and it’s role during the major wars, even today some OTs may call themselves ‘basket weavers’ as a reference to this activity.
