I am now into my 6th plan in less than 2 years. Yes, my 6th. I also have a new Support Coordinator (CoS) and Plan Manager. I am not going over my whole tale of woe from the beginning. The last few months have been the most painful of my life.
I switched from One Door as my Support Coordinator to My Voice. In the first 6 months of plan No.2 starting in March 17, I had no supports in place. I then went with My Voice. Things started to look up. In October 2017 My Voice requested a plan review so that they could get a higher Support Coordinator budget. The budget for Support Coordination did go up considerably but my overall plan fell by tens of thousands of dollars. A dramatic fall in funds. An appeal was lodged in November and I was told it would be sorted by Christmas 17 but I informed My Voice that it would NOT be done before May 2018. The review was done in 2018. I got back some funds but my plan was still seriously underfunded. I start a relentless telephone campaign to the NDIS. When you telephone they have 48 hours to contact you. Every 48 hours I telephone and put in another complaint. I get a meeting and my 5th plan in June 2018.
NOW LET’S GET TO THE ISSUES
21st of June new plan starts
27th of July (36 days from the start of the plan) My Voice withdraw from my funds $2,445.56c and $1536.64
A TOTAL OF $3,982.20c
Well over half the allotted funds. When I end service they took most of the rest. My Voice has not been able to give a reason or breakdown of these figures to either me or the commission at this point in time. The last I heard was that they were gathering the notes from various workers to ascertain why they charged these amounts.
My Voice did not pay Hire Up for months leaving me on a knifes edge over support workers and Hireup needing to collect around $17,000. I was informed by My Voice that because the old plan had closed off then Hireup were not entitled to get that money. I have a personal opinion that everyone needs to be paid for the work that they do. My Support Coordinator did have a telephone hook up with all of my support workers and myself to convince them to leave Hire Up and to go with a company that a friend of theirs had. This call lasted for over an hour. No support worker wanted to leave Hire Up. Apparently, my support coordinator could get them better money because there would be fewer management fees being taken.
My support coordinator from My Voice used to call me at all hours because they were going through a divorce and their then partner had mental health issues and since I have mental illness I was the go-to expert on all things nuts. There were other clients discussed by name even after I mentioned (often) how this was a breach of confidentiality and that I wasn’t comfortable. These telephone calls were long and rambling. A short call from them would be 90 minutes.
Some services I was told to pay for and that I would be reimbursed but I haven’t been. I know that around $200 isn’t going to sound like a lot but it is still owed. Some items I had to claim back I was later told that I couldn’t have the money for. I checked with the NDIS and the planner with each time being told they these were on my plan and that there was no issue with getting reimbursed. I AM STILL WAITING almost 3 months down the track.

In fact, there is not one support that I have at this point that I have not found and passed the info onto My Voice. The garden care costs $70 a time while the one they wanted me to use cost over $200. I kid you not, $200 to cut grass!
I worked out the supports I need and the support budget on the spreadsheet. When the meeting with the planner was held I knew what I needed and how much the budget had to be. We had a common understanding. I got the perfect plan.
I drove this and set the agenda and have been thwarted by My Voice. I have received emails from My Voice telling me that they take my complaint seriously and that I was to be discussed at the directors meeting and then another director tells me that was a lie.
NUTSHELLING it, stay away from My Voice.
