The National Disability Insurance Agency is closing its NDIS portal from 5pm TODAY! June 16th is the last day to lodge any claims with the NDIA this financial year. The NDIA portal will reopen from July 1 with the start of the new financial year (2016-17).
If you don’t get your claims in today, you will be waiting until July to make your claims. Whether you are an NDIS participant or an NDIS provider you will want to head to your portal to get your claims in today before the shutdown and we will all hold our collective breath that they don’t crash (again). Best of luck to all participants, providers and to the NDIA’s IT team who will no doubt be working hard to keep both portals up and running til the clock strikes 5pm.
While the NDIA has flagged that this will be an annual shutdown, with the NDIS portals closing for 2 weeks prior to the end of each financial year, this year an entirely new portal has been promised from July 1. This may be the case of trying to do too many things at once as we’ve seen the NDIA rush to a number of changes as the rollout of the NDIS hits a number of regions from July 1.
We’ve previously written about other recent NDIA changes, such as the appointment of LACs and the implementation of a new goalless ‘My First Plan’. You can read more about My First Plan here, here and here and if you haven’t already, please do join more than 350 people who have signed the petition to stop My First Plan and protect choice and control for people with disability.
