The reviews are in, the votes have been tallied and your Care Providers of the Year are here! The Care Provider of the Year Awards celebrate the best care providers all across the country. We recognise great care providers all across Australia in order to showcase the best providers, show what makes them great and inspire with the example these amazing providers set for care professionals everywhere.
In order to receive this award, providers had to be among the top rated providers from nearly 14,000 care providers nation wide. This year, that meant receiving 3 or more top reviews (4.5-5 stars) and no negative or neutral reviews. While there was a long list of honourable mentions for providers who earned one or two supportive reviews, our winners were able to demonstrate to you a consistently high performance worthy of the award and prizes.

I would like to offer my sincerest thanks and appreciation to those who have helped me realise my dream of starting A Positive Being Counselling Services. This has been the culmination of many years of planning, preparation and networking. Special thanks need to be extended to my family and friends who believed in my idea, particularly throughout the times when I was unsure of myself. I would also like to send a special thanks to two very special lecturers at USQ, Toowoomba, who always answered my endless barrage of questions with a smile and as much enthusiasm as I had when asking them. Eileen and James, you are amazing.
Winning this award is truly a special occasion for us, but setting the award aside for a moment, it has given me a much greater gift. It has shown me that A Positive Being is well on its way to achieving what I had hoped it would achieve. It is delivering the service that I had envisioned it would. The bigger picture has and always will be about those that we set up practice, to work beside.
As a relatively new provider, this award has come as an amazing, yet very much appreciated surprise. It has been such a privilege to work with so many wonderful people and being given the honour to walk beside them on their personal journeys is something very special and deeply rewarding in itself. I have been so fortunate to work in a sector that I truly have a great passion for and being blessed with this award on top is incredible.
It is important to acknowledge and thank my clients both past and present, you are all an inspiration and without you, none of this would have been possible. Receiving this award fills me with even more enthusiasm and optimism for the future, something I am embracing whole heartedly.
Again I say thank you.
Our final winner for this year’s awards, Hireup is a booking platform connecting people with disability to local support workers. As an online platform, Hireup is built to revolutionise the way people with disability find, hire and manage support workers by harnessing technology and connecting people with shared interests.
Hireup founders Jordan and Laura O’Reilly, grew up alongside a brother with disability. Managing support workers was part of their family routine. Sometimes the support workers were a great fit but more often than not, they weren’t.
While at university, Jordan became a disability support worker and learned that not only was the system broken for people with disability but also for support workers. It was with a deep and personal understanding of the disability support work system and the ways it needed to change that Laura and Jordan decided to create Hireup.
Since its founding, Hireup has booked over 1.2 million hours of support and claims to have collectively saved users over $9million.
When tallying up the votes for this year, we found that there was a long list of providers who only just barely missed out on joining Action Psychology, A Positive Being Counselling Service and Hireup on the winners podium. Either these were small providers who ended up one vote shy of the minimum 3 reviews or providers who had one review of 4 or below amongst mostly 4.5 & 5 star ratings.
Overall this is a great sign that providers across the country are creating services that put you first. Such high standards are the foundation of great care. If you would like to see your favourite care providers recognised in the 2019 awards, it is never too early to start voting. You can share your experience and recognise your favourite provider here.
Finally, we give our continued and heartfelt thanks to all of you who share your experiences with our community. Your reviews help empower tens of thousands of Australians to find the best local care providers in their community and inspire care providers to provide great care. Thank you!
