#6 Most Searched NDIS Support in 2016

6. Plan Management

The NDIS has the potential to give a lot of power to people to choose and manage the supports that work best for them. As uncle Ben said, “with great power comes great responsibility”. Managing all your support payments, keeping track of receipts and ensuring your in budget is the less great, but very important part of NDIS. While you can definitely do all that if you like, you also have the option to ask for funding to buy a plan manager as part of your NDIS plan.

A plan manager can take care of the books, so you can focus on getting the most out of your supports. You can also choose how much of your plan you would like a plan manager to handle for you, so if there’s parts you’d like to self manage, then you can do that too. Plan managers, like self managers, can help you access providers outside of those registered. So if you’d like to access a provider who isn’t registered with the NDIA and you don’t want to self manage, getting a plan manager to take care of that part of the plan can be a way to use non-registered providers in your plan.
